Asian Heritage Foundation (Southern Alberta) and Vertigo Theatre invite Calgarians on November 13 to explore and discuss how more diverse and inclusive arts and cultural places, programs and practices, can  be built.

The evening is a collaborative event exploring the integration of broad-based performing arts organizations and venues to become more inclusive and welcoming of under-represented communities. Enjoy arts performances and a panel discussion with leaders in the arts community. The Asian Heritage Foundation’s “Missing Chapters: Untold Stories of Asian Canadian Artists in Calgary” exhibit will also be showcased.

Craig Hall, Artistic Director, Vertigo Theatre: “It was an honour to host the Asian Heritage Foundation’s Missing Chapters exhibit in our venue during the World Premiere run of Jovanni Sy’s Hong Kong based crime thriller Nine Dragons. We look forward to deepening this collaboration with the Painting My Maple Leaf Forum. It is our hope to make Vertigo a welcoming place for Calgary’s increasingly diverse population of patrons and artists.”

Teresa Woo-Paw, Founder & Co-Chair, Asian Heritage Foundation: “We are excited to collaborate with Vertigo  Theatre once again to bring together artists, sector leaders and community members to explore inclusion and innovation in the arts. We have a shared goal to help Calgary institutions better reflect our dynamic cultural diversity.”
