RED FM Radiothon 2018
Once again, RED FM is proud to bring our listeners together in support our local hospital, The Peter Lougheed Centre.
Last year, we began an initiative to support the expansion of the hospital’s Hemodialysis Unit, a unit that provides daily blood transfusions for people suffering for kidney disease and other ailments that require transfusions.
To date, RED FM listeners have raised funds to support a new Neo Natal Care Facility construction, with the NICU Pod area being named the “Mata Tripta NICU Pods”. Following that, RED FM listeners raised money towards the construction of a new Women’s Ward at the hospital, with the Triage area now being called the “Mai Bhago Women’s Triage Area” in honour of RED FM listeners.
Last year, RED FM listeners raised $270,000 towards to Hemodialysis Ward expansion, however this challenge is not over yet. Upon raising a combined total of $600,000, the Calgary Health Trust has committed to naming the waiting area of the Hemodialysis Ward the “Dukh Bhanjan Patient and Family Area” in honour of the generosity of RED FM listeners.
The goal is $600,000 raised for this project between 2017 & 2018, and we still have just over $300,000 to go for this year.
On November 23rd, please give generously to the Calgary Health Trust. By supporting your local hospital, you’re supporting your community, your friends and your family who all depend on it.
If we’re able to name the patient and family waiting area after Dukh Bhanjan we’ll leave a legacy for all South Asians in Calgary for years to come.
