Calgarians have until 8 p.m. Monday to cast their ballots in what’s being called one of the most unpredictable municipal elections in recent memory.

Eligible voters can find their assigned polling station on Elections Calgary’s website. Polls open at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

According to Elections Calgary, roughly 96,500 residents voted during the six-day advance voting period.

For the first time, every ballot will be counted by hand due to new provincial legislation eliminating the use of electronic tabulators. More than 500 workers will manually count ballots at the Big Four Building once voting ends.

“We are projecting that the mayoral count will be known on election night,” said returning officer Kate Martin. “The councillors and the school board trustees — we are not anticipating final results on election night.”

Initial mayoral results are expected before midnight, though tight races across several wards could delay final council results until Tuesday.
