Immigrant Services Calgary Hosts Largescale Virtual Career Fair March 15 and 16, 2018

Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC) announces the online Virtual Career Fair 2018 (VCF 2018) on March 15 and 16 ,2018 from 9am to 4pm Mountain Time on both days. The event is free for both professional newcomer jobseekers and employers, and will be accessible online across Canada.

Professional newcomer jobseekers attending VCF 2018 will be able to connect with employer representatives through chat rooms, teleconferencing, webcasts, and more, avoiding crowds and line ups. Through these communication tools, attendees will be able to apply for jobs and participate in interviews, as well as benefit from workshop seminars that can help inform their career decisions.

Approximately 25 employers will be represented at the two-day event, offering jobs in various fields across Canada including IT, Administration, Finance and Accounting, HR, etc. The full list of employers will be published at a date closer to the launch of the event. To see the full list of employers and to register for the free event, professional newcomers should visit VCF.settlementcalgary.com. Registration will open in early February and jobseekers are encouraged to register as early as possible.

Employers can take advantage of the benefits of VCF 2018, namely the elimination of costs to set up booths, to advertise, to travel, and to divert human resources. Moreover, employers can gain access to an immense pool of diverse talent in an organized and controlled manner, without having to leave the office. VCF 2018 will allow employers to browse through resumes and conduct live interviews, providing them the tools needed to discover the best candidate to fill their talent needs.

“Our main goal is to bridge our professional newcomers with Canadian employers and support them in finding employment opportunities. We strongly encourage both parties to take advantage of this free opportunity to expand their staffing and job seeking strategies,” said Ho-Man Chan, Director of Settlement and Language Bank Centre at ISC.

For more information or to enquire about participating as an employer at VCF 2018, please contact Ghazi Hallab, Business Development Officer at ISC by phone at 403.265.1120 Ext 257, or by email at ghazih@immigrantservicescalgary.ca
