Radio Sadaye Afghan – Da Afghan Ghag Radio


Zarlasht Bashiryar joined the RedFm team in 2015 and has been hosting the Dari and Pashto programs every sunday, ever since. Zarlasht has been living inCalgary for over eight years and has been an active volunteer at the Afghan Canadian Association of Calgary.

Zarlasht has been working with the Afghan Social Organization for Women in Afghanistan and has contributed to the health sector as well as Television/Radio broadcasting in Nangrahar as well as Kabul. She is the proud winner of Innovative Beauty Creator Visionary Pride of Afghanistan (Humanity-Peace- Knowledge) as well as the Ghazi Amanullah Khan medals. In her spare time, Zarlasht likes to write for the sake of spreading awareness amongst the Afghan youth regarding the importance of education and peaceful coexistence. Zarlasht has published various collections of poetry as well as pashtu novels out of which, four has been collections of her poems and three are novels based on the circumstances of war on Afghan families. Along with pursuing her passion for writing, Zarlasht has always focused on gaining more knowledge in the field of health care. Due to security issues in Afghanistan, Zarlasht migrated with her family to the neighboring country of Pakistan and attended a paramedical institute specializing in pharmacology. In Calgary, she studied health care at the BowValley College and is currently a part time student with the Study Free Line Writers Bureau College of London.
