RED GEET MALA | Monday – Friday 11AM-1PM | Hosted by Minu Bhatia

We sat down with RED GEET MALA host Minu to ask her what the show is about, here’s what she said

I believe that music can inspire, motivate, illuminate and give freshness to our mind and soul. The first hour of RED GEET MALA always has a different theme. On Tuesdays I provide Motivational Tips, on Wednesdays we talk about film personalities, and on Thursdays we present songs that have things in common. Every Friday, we play a collection of the best songs that were played from the Monday through Thursday shows. During the 2nd hour of every show we always have ‘listener’s choice’, or requests.

We do a very special “filmy” feature on the last Friday of every month called “Movie In Focus”. During the “Movie in Focus” show, we talk about one specific popular movie, the characters, behind the camera scenes and stories, listen to some of the dialogues and music from the movie & much more.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your interest in performance:

I started working at a station in the District of Kathua (J & K) at a radio station doing talk shows as a hobby, covering Weekends and vacations. I also wrote articles and Poems during that time, and my first published poem was in “Champak” magazine, named ‘ chun chun karti chirria boli’. I was only 16 years of age at the time and Champak magazing paid me 250/- as a reward! I also participated in a Poetry Recitation contest organised by the Department of Information (Government of Jammu and Kashmir) where I finished in 1st place. I also participated in the “Maggi Noodles, Share Your Experience” competition at the time, and was honoured by Maggi following the event.

Writing has always been my passion since I was young.

What did you study in school?

I completed a Masters degree in Human Development and a Masters degree in Education. I also worked as an officiating Principal in a Bachelor of Education (BEd.) College.

Do you have any parting words for your listeners?

I always feel honoured and blessed when listeners provide their feedback, ideas and contribute towards the show. I believe creativity involves breaking out of established patterns in order to look at things in a different way. In the end, I would just like to say ‘khush rahaiye, haste rahiye aur hasaate rahaiye’.
