This year, RED FM listeners raised just over $263,000
The RED FM Annual Radiothon in Support of the Calgary Health Trust.
Friday, November 3rd marked the 4th year that RED FM Calgary has held a radiothon in support of the Calgary Health Trust (CHT), and more specifically The Peter Lougheed Centre.
This year, the radiothon was held in support of an expansion project taking place in the Hemodialysis Unit. With the support of RED FM listeners, the unit will see the total number of patient spaces double in size, from 9-18 once construction is complete.
In return for helping raise funds to support this unit expansion, the CHT will rename the entrance room for the unit as “the Dukh Bhanjan Patient and Family Area” once a minimum of $600,000 CAD is raised from the radiothons.
This year, RED FM listeners raised just over $263,000 CAD, so we are almost half way to reaching our goal! In 2018, we will continue to support this worthy cause and hope that we will be able to reach the goal to have the entrance room renamed.
RED FM would like to thank all of the volunteers (more than 50!) who donated their personal time to make the radiothon possible. A special thank you must also go out to Rajpal Sidhu of Bikaner Restaurant who provided delicious food for donors throughout the day.
Most importantly, we must thank our listeners who once again, stepped up for a worthy cause and showed amazing support. We all depend on the services of the Peter Lougheed Centre and your generosity allows the Calgary Health Trust to enhance their ability to serve us and our families.
