The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced a major cocaine seizure at the Blue Water Bridge in Point Edward.
On July 23, a commercial truck crossing into Canada from the United States was directed to a secondary inspection. During the examination of the trailer, officers discovered seven bags containing numerous bricks of suspected cocaine.
CBSA reports the total weight of the suspected drugs is 197 kilograms, with an estimated street value of approximately $24.6 million.
A 29-year-old individual from Caledon, Ontario was arrested and handed over to the RCMP. The suspect is now facing charges of cocaine importation and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
