Calgary police have released an AI-generated image of a man whose body was discovered last spring, hoping someone will recognize him and help locate his family.
The man was found by a passerby around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, on the riverbank near Memorial Drive and 10 Street NW. An autopsy determined his death was not suspicious.
A composite sketch was shared with the public in May 2024, but despite that and other identification methods, the man remains unknown.
Police believe he was between 55 and 70 years old, about six feet tall, 230 pounds, with a light complexion, blonde or grey hair, blue eyes, and some facial hair. At the time, he was wearing brown hiking boots with orange and black soles.
“While we make every effort to ensure next of kin notifications happen in private settings, we also recognize the immense grief that comes with unanswered questions,” police said in a statement. “Our commitment is to help families find the answers they deserve.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Calgary police at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
