The number of E. coli cases tied to the Saskatoon Farm, a restaurant south of Calgary, has climbed to 107, according to Alberta Health Services (AHS).
The outbreak began at the end of July. In its last update on Aug. 6, AHS reported 68 probable cases. The health authority says numbers may change as testing continues.
In 68 of the cases, another parasite, Entamoeba histolytica, was also detected. Other viruses, including norovirus and rotavirus, have been found, though it’s unclear if they are connected to the outbreak.
Four people have been hospitalized, but three have since been released.
The Saskatoon Farm remains closed under an AHS order and will not reopen until all safety conditions are met.
