Alberta Health Services (AHS) has announced layoffs affecting 100 employees and the elimination of 300 vacant positions as part of an organizational restructuring.
The health agency confirmed Tuesday that the reductions primarily affect corporate services, including departments such as IT, finance, human resources, community engagement, and communications.
AHS emphasized that the cuts do not impact filled frontline clinical roles and that no direct effects are expected on patient care.
According to the agency, the layoffs account for approximately 0.4 per cent of AHS’s total workforce.
