Calgary’s first Supply Chain and Transportation Job Fair drew more than 300 attendees to the Genesis Centre on Saturday, offering a boost to the city’s growing logistics and transportation industries.
The event brought together employers, community partners, and job seekers for a day of networking and on-the-spot hiring. Exhibitors include FMI Logistics Inc., Steele’s Transportation Group, Southwest Bulk Express Inc., Loblaw Companies Ltd., and Calgary Transit.
Organizers said the turnout highlighted the city’s increasing demand for skilled workers in warehousing, logistics, and public transit.
Prospect Human Services, a workforce development organization, served as the event’s key sponsor with support from the Alberta government. The fair was produced by Steer Marketing Inc., with Particl Digital as the brand sponsor.
“Events like these industry job fairs are a unique opportunity for job seekers to stand out and for employers to shorten the recruitment time by bypassing stacks of online resumes,” said Jennifer Dost, employer services manager at Prospect Human Services. “It was valuable having community resources join and share their information with attendees.”
The event also featured several nonprofit organizations that provide training and employment support, including Women Building Futures, the Centre for Newcomers, Ballad Group, and Prospect Human Services.
Miles Robert Aronson, president of Steer Marketing and the event’s organizer, said the fair was designed to strengthen Calgary’s workforce and create long-term opportunities.
“This event wasn’t just about filling jobs — it was about building hope, momentum and valuable connections across Calgary’s supply chain and transportation sector,” Aronson said. “We’re seeing authentic conversations, real hires, and vibrant collaboration happening in one place.”
Organizers said they plan to bring the event back in 2026.
