Calgary police are asking for the public’s assistance as they investigate a series of residential break and enters reported this month in the city’s southwest and northwest communities.

Investigators say four incidents appear to be connected and share a similar pattern. In each case, the targeted homes backed onto greenspaces, ravines, parks or golf courses, leading police to believe the offenders deliberately selected properties with rear access and less visibility.

The break-ins occurred during afternoon and evening hours on Jan. 15, 17 and 23 in areas near Coronation Drive S.W., Signature Heights S.W., Paterson Way S.W. and Hamptons Grove N.W. Police say the homes were unoccupied at the time, with suspects typically forcing entry by breaking rear doors or windows.

Once inside, the offenders made off with high-value items, including jewelry, watches, purses, sunglasses and cash.

Calgary police are urging residents who live in or around the affected neighbourhoods to review any available home security footage, doorbell camera recordings or dashcam video from the listed dates and times. Anyone who noticed suspicious activity or unusual behaviour in these areas is also encouraged to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or email satg@calgarypolice.ca. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers.
