The Owen Hart Foundation (OHF) happily presents their annual “OHF Easter ‘Fill the Jeep’ Food Drive” in support of the Calgary Food Bank.
The OHF started this initiative in 2020 to help ensure families negatively impacted by COVID-19 would not suffer due to food insecurity and have continued since due to the ongoing substantial need. To date the OHF has collected thousands and thousands of pounds of food as well as additional much needed funds in support of the Calgary Food Bank, with the help of three corporate community leaders who serve as OHF food donation drop off sites. This year the Owen Hart Foundation aims to collect over 3000 pounds of food for the Calgary Food Bank BUT needs the community’s help to accomplish this goal!
Dr. Martha Hart stated, “I started this food drive when COVID-19 hit in 2020 with lockdowns and isolation devastating so many lives leading to joblessness and inevitable food insecurity. I had a vision that if all my OHF committee members could leave a bag of food on their doorsteps and they could encourage their neighbors and friends to do the same, then perhaps I could collect it all and ‘fill my jeep’ full of food to help support the Calgary Food Bank and those families most in need. What I didn’t expect was that so many generous OHF supporters and companies, namely TRAPPED Escape Room and After Eight Interiors would support this initiative, including the company where I purchased my jeep – Tower Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram! It is amazing to see how one small act of kindness has sparked the annual OHF ‘Fill the Jeep’ Food Drive, an event of giving back to the community that the OHF is extremely proud to spearhead.’
