Calgary Police Service (CPS) is conducting a targeted enforcement initiative in downtown Calgary and surrounding areas today as part of its ongoing Safer Calgary – Operation Order program.

The operation, taking place Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, involves CPS officers working alongside Calgary Community Safety and Transit Public Safety peace officers to proactively engage with the public. Officers will connect individuals with available supports and, when necessary, enforce laws and bylaws related to drug use, possession, trafficking, social disorder, and violent offences.

These focused operations are designed to supplement daily patrols and the work of the Community Engagement Response Team (CERT), ensuring a coordinated approach to public safety in the city’s core.

CPS Chief Katie McLellan is scheduled to speak to media today at 3 p.m. at the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation building, 430 Eighth Ave. S.E., to provide details about the operation and answer questions about the city’s ongoing efforts to address crime and community safety.

The initiative underscores CPS’s commitment to both enforcement and community support, aiming to make Calgary streets safer while connecting vulnerable individuals to needed resources.
