The Calgary Stampede delivered a major economic boost to Alberta in 2025, generating an estimated $721 million across the province, according to a new analysis released Thursday.

The economic impact study, conducted by consulting firm MNP, examined the effects of the 10-day event and found a 33 per cent increase compared with the last comparable report in 2019. Officials say the growth highlights the Stampede’s expanding role as a driver of tourism, business activity and community engagement.

Joel Cowley, chief executive officer of the Calgary Stampede, said the findings reflect strong public support and sustained demand for conferences, conventions, trade shows and large-scale community events held on Stampede Park and throughout the city.

“As a not-for-profit organization, we’re proud to generate meaningful economic value for our neighbours,” Cowley said in a news release. He added that the Stampede helps attract investment, strengthen Alberta’s competitiveness and contribute to a vibrant, resilient local economy.
