Time is running out for anyone hoping to enter Calgary’s upcoming municipal election.
Candidates have until 12 p.m. Monday to submit their nomination papers to Elections Calgary. Nomination packages must be delivered in person and include a $100 deposit along with the required number of voter signatures.
Those filing can put their names forward for mayor, city councillor, or trustee positions with either the public or separate school boards.
Dozens of hopefuls have already registered, and Elections Calgary will release the official list of candidates later Monday, once the nomination period officially closes.
Calgarians head to the polls on Oct. 20, with advance voting available Oct. 6–11.
