Despite Prime Minister Justin Trudeau facing boos at the Grey Cup on Sunday, a new poll from the non-profit Angus Reid Institute shows Mark Carney maintaining strong national support. According to the data, 52 per cent of Canadians approve of Carney, while 39 per cent disapprove, giving him a net approval rating of +13.
Meanwhile, Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre is entering a challenging period as attention around his leadership intensifies. After losing one MP to a floor-crossing and another to resignation, Poilievre heads toward a January leadership review with weakening public favourability.
Only one-third of Canadians (34 per cent) view him favourably, while 60 per cent hold an unfavourable opinion — putting his net rating at -26, the lowest recorded since he became leader.
