A café in Surrey connected to Bollywood comedian and TV host Kapil Sharma has been targeted in a third shooting this year, according to local police.
The Surrey Police Service said officers were called to the 8400 block of 120 Street in Newton around 3:45 a.m., where they discovered the business had been struck by multiple bullets. Staff were inside the café at the time, but no injuries were reported.
This latest attack follows two previous shootings at the same location in August, just weeks apart. A video of the first incident in July—widely shared on social media—showed an individual repeatedly firing a handgun at the establishment.
The repeated attacks have drawn significant attention, including from Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke, who urged social media platforms to curb the spread of violent videos depicting criminal activity.
Authorities believe the incident is part of a broader series of extortion-related attacks affecting several businesses across Surrey and the Lower Mainland, particularly those owned by South Asian community members in the Newton area.
Police continue to investigate and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
