Calgarians have no shortage of events to explore this weekend, from cultural celebrations and concerts to sports and outdoor shows.
The Chinese New Year Festival will light up the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre with lion and dragon dances, live music, martial arts demonstrations, and local vendors. The free celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, and Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at 197 First Street S.W.
Heavy metal fans can catch Megadeth live at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. The band will be joined by fellow metal acts Anthrax and Exodus.
Outdoor enthusiasts can explore the latest gear at the Calgary Boat & Outdoors Show, happening Friday through Sunday at the BMO Centre. The event showcases fishing and boating equipment, hunting supplies, and camping essentials.
Meanwhile, chocolate lovers can sip their way through YYC Hot Chocolate Fest, a month-long charity competition supporting Calgary Meals on Wheels. Specialty hot drinks are available at various locations across the city until Feb. 28.
Hockey fans can also cheer on the Calgary Hitmen as they face off against the Saskatoon Blades at the Saddledome on Saturday at 6 p.m.
