U.S. President Donald Trump says he plans to discuss trade with Prime Minister Mark Carney and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum as the three North American leaders gather in Washington, D.C.

For the first time, just months before the mandatory review of the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) next year.

Carney arrived in the U.S. capital late Friday morning to take part in the FIFA Men’s World Cup draw ceremony.

“We’re going to meet with both, and we’re getting along very well,” Trump told reporters on the red carpet ahead of the event.

“I think we have a meeting set up for some time after the event. Yeah, we’re going to discuss trade.”

Trump, Carney, Sheinbaum, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino were later photographed holding up country names during the official draw at the Kennedy Center.

Supermodel Heidi Klum and actor Kevin Hart opened the ceremony at noon. The draw will determine the 104 matchups for the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted across North America.

Canada is set to stage 13 games, the first time the global tournament will be played on Canadian soil.

Carney and his wife, Diana Fox Carney, were seen greeting Trump upon arrival.

The draw divides the 48 competing teams into 12 groups of four, labelled Group A through Group L. Countries are placed into four pots of 12, and each group will feature one team drawn from each pot.
